Pickup Truck Dumps Lumber, Closes I-295 In Burlington

A pickup truck dumped its load of lumber closing part of Interstate 295 in Burlington County, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 11:31 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 on I-295 southbound at milepost 47 in Burlington Township, according to New Jersey State Police.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford pickup truck carrying 2X4 lumber was involved in a collision with another vehicle causing it to overturn and spill the lumber into the lanes of travel, State Police said.

Lanes of travel were sporadically closed for cleanup and vehicle removal. The driver of the truck was evaluated by EMS but refused further medical treatment, police said.
